Sox and Martin Race Car at Mopars at the Strip auction March 27th 2010

This 1968 Hemi Barracuda Factory Race Car is one of just 50 produced. In 1968 the Chrysler Corporation built a handful of Hemi-equipped Barracuda race cars along with their counterpart, the 1968 Dodge Dart that was likewise so prepared. This is an authentic and famous B029 cars. It left the factory with stickers on the car stating that the car was not street-legal and that it was produced and intented for Drag Racing purposes only. The car is fully documented from it's original owners until today.
Most recently the car was featured at Mopars at the Strip in Las Vegas in 2006, as the feature car accompanied by Buddy Martin and Herb McCandless during the inaguration of the Ronnie Sox Foundation to benefit St. Judes Children's Research Hospital. At this event, over $60,000.00 was raised in Mr. Sox's name and later donated that year to St. Judes at the US Nationals following Mr. Sox's death. The check was presented by Buddy Martin, Herb McCandless and Diane Sox.
The car was also accompanied by Buddy Martin at the 40th Anniversary of Hemi Super Stock reunion held in Las Vegas at Mopars at the Strip in 2008, and the car was also featured in another tribute 1968 Barracuda Hemi reunion in August of 2008 at the All Hemi Reunion held at Quaker City Raceway. These are indeed special cars, the Hemi Super Stock Barracudas are still one of the most dominant cars today in racing; here is your chance to own a special piece of Chrysler and Drag Racing history. |
