Santa Fe Springs, Calif. (March 3, 2009) – Four months ago, Hotchkis Performance debuted several new Mopar suspension systems at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Now the Hotchkis team has partnered with renowned builder Steve Strope of Pure Vision Design and is heading back to Sin City for an exciting live vehicle build at the 2009 Mopars at the Strip event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and the finished product will be given away in a charity raffle.

"We’re starting out with an all-original ’67 Coronet, and when we're done this car is going to be really fast, cool and fun to drive," Strope says. "This build is going to show what you can do with a simple, affordable car over the course of two days."

The unique demonstration will allow show attendees to witness the stock Coronet's transformation into a canyon-carver with basic hand tools and off-the-shelf aftermarket parts. Strope will install a Hotchkis B-Body Total Vehicle System (TVS), including A-arms, steering rods, strut rods, front and rear sway bars, springs, torsion bars and bushings. Other high-performance additions include Bonspeed billet wheels and Pirelli P-Zero tires and a Wilwood brake kit with 12" rotors, 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers for maximum stopping power.

"We’re really excited to be part of this demonstration," says company founder John Hotchkis. "We worked for nearly two years to come up with a Mopar system that provides the perfect ride height, incredible handling and easy installation."

Mopars at the Strip, which runs Friday March 20 through Sunday March 22, 2009, is known as one of the biggest and most action-packed Chrysler-only automotive events in the country with a large car show, racing, a live auction and more. Hotchkis will be a major presence at the show with a display in the Manufacturer’s Midway featuring the Coronet Live Build, the 2009 "Mr. Norm’s" Cuda, Hotchkis' own "E-Max" 1970 Challenger project car, and giveaway contests for free sway bar sets throughout the weekend.

Mopars at the Strip owner/director Phil Painter has also announced that the Coronet will be the 2010 charity raffle grand prize, with proceeds benefitting The Southern Nevada Fire Fighter's Burn Foundation, The Lili Claire Foundation and Speedway Children's Charities. This year's charity giveaway car is a 1971 Hemi Orange, Dodge Dart Swinger. Tickets are $20 and are available at the event or at www.moparsatthestrip.com.

"The fact that Hotchkis and Pure Vision are willing to do this for a giveaway car is a big deal," Painter says. "It’s not often you get to see someone build a complete car in two days. It’s an honor to work with both of these companies. They’re doing it for a great cause."
